Welcome!
I'm Deanna, a fiber artist from the New England area. I have been an artist and maker my whole life but didn't focus on hand embroidery until 2018. My work has a maximalists aesthetic and love for color. Inspiration comes from the little things in life and my subjects include everything from the human figure, architecture, or just your basic house plant. I also enjoy capturing a good pithy quote surrounded by anything from French knots to flowers.
Hand embroidery is a slow art form. Each piece takes a mind boggling amount of hours, days, and weeks to create. Though I love creating and selling my embroidery, this is my side hustle next to my work as a mother and education curator to my three children. We homeschool because we love the freedom in learning as well as the flexible lifestyle.
I am often open to commissions, so please consider this your open invitation to reach out if you have an idea of something you would like me to help bring to life. Note that there may be a waitlist and as previously noted, my art is slow art form and my family comes first. (Cue pithy quote about what comes to those who wait.)
The name of my business, Six Eyes Stitches, came from the fact that I use to layer my reading glasses with my regular glasses when I work. My friend teased me that I wasn't just a four eyes, but six. I was amused with this idea and started doodling my layered glasses in Procreate one evening and a logo was born. I have since accepted the fate of my need for bifocals, but I will always be six eyed.
Thank you so much for your interest in my work and supporting my passion. xx
